Donnafugata Winery

The Donnafugata wine farm is born in Sicily on the initiative of a Family, which has put the interest to accumulate cultural richness in one hundred and fifty years of engagement in the production of wine quality. Giacomo Rallo, the forth generation in the production of the oldest family of the island engaged in the wine producing, together with the wife Gabriella Anca and his sons José and Antonio, found a productive reality in a constant evolution. Donnafugata and its wines are the fruits of a laborious research of team that tries to recover the tradition and on the other hand the extension of the grape-producing experience and to the renewal of the production begins from the cultivation of the grapevines, and continuous then in the delicate phase of the grape harvesting, in the fermentation and in the refining. The vineyards and the cellars of wine making are set on the hill of Belice in the commune of Contessa Entellina and on the islands of Pantelleria. From these business-vineyards and from the other neighbouring, thanks to their pedo-microclimatetic, starts an interesting selection of wine of high quality. The refining and the pouring of wine in the bottles of Donnafugata wines takes place in the old cellar of Rallo’s family in Marsala.
